About Killinger
From the sonic frontier of Western Canada, a new band has emerged that is surprising many with a fresh new style and sound that is reminiscent of classic 80’s hard rock and metal. The band is called KILLINGER and its genesis came about when Dave Williams and Kevin Morin (lead vocalist and guitarist respectively) decided to team up to write intensively for an original project in 2008. Previously, Dave was lead vocalist for 80’tribute band, Rattpoison, while Kevin played guitar with Bonafide and Face First. Between them, they had supported numerous bands including BuckCherry, Jackyl, State of Shock, Econoline Crush and Vince Neil. “We talked about combining our skills to create a concept” states Kevin. The concept was structured around key elements of 80’s rock music that would retain the melody and power which defines the genre and lends it so well to large arena performances. Unlike many new hard rock acts, the project was to feature technical expertise in the musicianship while being accessible. The band was looking for a big sound and “I wanted it to be the biggest I’ve ever witnessed” says Dave. “The writing process for the album came together very naturally and easily.” “It came together so quickly that we needed a producer immediately” says Kevin. Rick Plester, who is with Black Symphony and has worked with guitar legends Michael Schenker and George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob), recorded and produced the debut album. He also appears as a guest guitar soloist. Rick helped get George Lynch as a guest artist and called on powerhouse drummer, Pete Holmes, to play all drums on the debut disk. Pete was a perfect fit for the sound of the band as he had extensive experience with 80’s hard rock legends Black ‘n Blue as well as with Malice, Monster, Ian Gillan, Ted Nugent, Black Symphony and the Michael Schenker Group. R.J. Killinger was recruited as bassist and his surname serves the band well as its monicker. R.J. has recent success playing with Calgary-based bands Joshua’s Habit and 1-900 who recorded an album with songwriting contributions from Brian Howes (Hinder/Daughtry/Hedley) under the guidance of Nickelback producer Joey Moi. Multi-Juno award winner and guest artist, Bill Bourne, contributed background vocals to the self-titled KILLINGER album.

The songs caught the attention of legendary mixer/engineer Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith) and he has brought them to a new level with his talent. In addition, Vision Entertainment (Geoff McLean, Katharine Wilson) produced the video for the first single “Holding On” with director Marc Ricciardelli. The video marks the debut of new drummer Chris Challice who was brought on board since Pete was busy touring with the Michael Schenker Group. Chris had recently been playing with a Motley Crue tribute band based out of Calgary. His true Crue roots, live performance antics and admiration of Tommy Lee made him a natural for KILLINGER. The chemistry of this band is truly amazing.

The huge sound captured on the first KILLINGER album is a crucial part of the band’s live performance. Anyone who has seen the band perform will likely say it was loud. This is the way rock music should be heard. The unique look, persona, energy, stage effects and on-stage antics are all parts of the KILLINGER live show which is the very best way to experience KILLINGER. It will be an experience you won’t soon forget.

“Cause” means a reason for an action and that is exactly what KAUZE intends to bring. Formed in 2005, founding member and vocalist Lane Steele bore the musical Groove-Metal project from the seeds of his poetry inspired works and spoken word performances. In 2006 the debut EP “Waiting for the Punch” was released gaining recognition in Music Connection Magazine and receiving plays on college and indie radio stations all across the nation. In support of their second EP, “Epiphany” featuring Kenneth Schalk (Candiria) on drums, Kauze is creating an effect from their many live show performances and mini tours with the established lineup of Die Wachi (Divine Era) guitar, Mike Gomez (Ascension) drums, and Jesse Sanchez (Ascension) bass. In the company of Superjoint Ritual, Clutch, Down, and Marilyn Manson, Kauze fall out of the normal confines of Metal and that’s where they like to stay. With palatable and superb aggression Kauze takes you on seamless stroll down memory lane, over the mountains and through the hills, leaving you with the timeless sweet-smells from the old-school hardcore-punk and metal paths. The experimental thrash-groove project is presently gearing up for a 2009 tour in support of the new EP, and plans to return to the studio shortly after to record their first full-length LP “The Rise to Power.” “Waiting for the Punch” and “Epiphany” are currently available through CD Baby.com, I Tunes and Amoeba Record Stores. Kauze can be contacted through their website at http://www.kauze.com and through Myspace at http://www.myspace.com/kauzetunes. They can be seen and heard in your town soon… be ready for the effect!

INTERVIEW W/ LEAD VOCALIST KEVIN STEELE OF ROXX GANG & MOJO GURUS

About Roxx Gang
Roxx Gang exploded on the music scene in 1988 with their classic album "Love 'Em and Leave 'Em". Roxx Gang was a hybrid mixture of rock, blues and punk that virtually defied classification. "Love 'Em and Leave 'Em" received stellar reviews on both sides of the Atlantic and earned Roxx Gang a spot on the Top Ten Heavy Metal Albums Of The Year in Tower Records' Pulse! This led to Roxx Gang being the first hard rock band signed by Virgin America. Their Virgin release, "Things You've Never Done Before," went on to sell over 250,000 copies and yielded a Top 50 single in the UK.

The band also released two videos "No Easy Way Out" directed by Nigel Dick (Guns-N-Roses) and "Scratch My Back" directed by Ralph Ziman (L.A. Guns) that received extensive airplay on MTV. Later in their career the band was also signed to Epic Records and Perris Records. Their music was featured in Playboy Entertainment DVD's "Girls of South Beach" and "Ladies of Color" and in the XBox 360 game "Saints Row." The band is no longer together but "never say never" as a recent resurgence of interest in the band has lead to new digital distribution and merchandising deals. Lead singer Kevin Steele now fronts The Mojo Gurus (True North Records).

About MOJO GURUS
Led by singer songwriter Kevin Steele, the Gurus come off as determined to remind us of something too many people have forgotten... the spirit in which rock 'n' roll was originally intended. Shake 'em on down! Backed by Doc Lovett's rhythm and booze riffs, Vinnie Granese's thick and black as Mississippi Delta mud bass runs and Mark Busto's cannon shot voodoo beats, the Mojo Gurus perform real deal rock 'n' roll with enough strut and swagger to make most of today's flavor of the month bands pale in comparison.

The Mojo Gurus released their debut disc in 1999 to great critical acclaim. The bands video "Tiger Lily" received heavy rotation on Canadian music video channel Much Music. That release was quickly followed by “Drinkin’ TNT and Smokin’ Dynamite” which along with their powerhouse live performances helped the band build an impressive following around the world. The Gurus third release “Hot Damn!” enjoyed a four-month success story on FM radio that included over one-hundred-nineteen FM stations playing “Hot Damn!” including sixty-five CMJ reporting "core" stations. Roots Music Report gave the band a five star review saying, “Hot Damn is right! The Mojo Gurus ‘Hot Damn!’ is a fantastic roots rock release.”

The success of “Hot Damn!” led to the band signing with Empire Musicwerks and recording a new CD entitled “Shakin’ In The Barn.” The bands hard work ethic continued to pay dividends when after a NYC showcase they were handpicked by Grammy Award winning producer Jack Douglas (John Lennon, Aerosmith, NY Dolls) to be his next recording project. On “Shakin’ In The Barn” Douglas captured all the energy from the band’s amazing live performances. Jack Douglas said the following about the new CD, ”This CD makes me want to drive out on the highway ‘pedal to the metal.’ Pull over at a truck stop, hang for a while and play a game of Texas Holdem with a gang of bad bikers while Jerry Lee Lewis screams on the juke. Mojo Gurus writes and plays real deal American roots rock, all the fun and adventure included. Don't be surprised if you suddenly start off-roading in your Caddy SUV as the CD spins in your player. It was a blast to produce.” “Shakin’ In The Barn” was distributed by Universal Records and spent six months on the national roots rock/alt-country charts.

Defying all labels the Gurus new album “Let’s Get Lit With…The Mojo Gurus” combines southern rock, old school country, rhythm and blues, surf rock and even a little bit of soul. Produced by the band and Jody Gray the album was mastered in LA by Stephen Marsh (Jeff Beck, Muddy Waters). If after one listen you don't find yourself doin' the Twine and Ballin' the Jack, maybe you better have your pulse checked.

Whether you have been around long enough to remember the real thing or you are young enough to wish you could, the Mojo Gurus are the long lost friend you've been looking for. Let's Get Lit indeed!

Interview w/ American Power Metal Vocalist Eric Claro of 'SCARRED'

www.scarredmetal.com

Latest 4 Song EP is titled 'HAUNTING MEMORIES'
and is also available on I-Tunes!!!!!!

Scarred, American Power Metal band was formed in 2001 by guitarist John Toscano. John’s vision of Scarred was to create a new power metal sound combining influences of metal masters such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and the newer power edge of bands like Nevermore and Iced Earth.

Scarred has enjoyed many successes over the years. In 2003 they were signed to an indie label, released Shadow of Conspiracy and toured the U.S. playing festivals such as the Milwaukee Metal Fest, Chicago Classic Metal Festival, The Gathering of the Bestial Legion Festival and the L.A. Gates of Metal Festival. They have shared the stage with bands like Nevermore, Armored Saint, Steel Attack, Primal Fear, Into Eternity, Overkill, Sonata Arctica, Hammerfall, Helloween, Metal Church and Death Angel.

After a short break John reunited with drummer Andy Salas. Singer Eric Claro and bassist Ray Solorio were added to the band’s line up. While the signature Scarred style of John’s complex riffs and Andy’s wicked rolls and monstrous double bass are still present; Eric’s melodic vocals and screams from hell along with Ray’s vicious attack and lightning fast fingers on the bass add a new beastly dimension to the Scarred sound.
